Samsung Pay is coming soon—with Visa Token Service working behind the scenes.
Visa Token Service protects user information by sending a unique series of numbers to the reader instead of sending personal information, such as the card number, expiration date and security code.
By intercepting that information, criminals might be able to conduct fraudulent transactions. Instead, with the Visa Token Service, no card numbers are stored on your phone or exposed at any point during a transaction—so that information stays safe, everywhere and at every time.
Using Samsung Pay will be easy. First, you’ll add your Visa card to your Samsung device's virtual wallet. Once you’re set up and ready to pay, just hold the phone in front of an enabled reader to complete your purchase.
Samsung expressed hopes that between 15 and 20 percent of its customers will use Samsung Pay once it's rolled out, according to Bloomberg Businessweek.
