Missy Franklin, four-time Olympic Gold medalist (USA, Swimming) rides shotgun while Ashton Eaton, Olympic Gold medal winning decathlete (USA), delivers his daily affirmations from the driver’s seat in a new collaboration by Visa and United Airlines. The short film is part of Visa’s global Olympic Games campaign, which follows Team Visa athletes on their journey to Rio. During the film, which you can view here, Franklin decides to change course and purchase a United Airlines ticket using Visa Checkout. She finds she can get away fast but she can’t get away from the affirmations fast enough as she finds herself seated between two more Team Visa athletes repeating their Olympic Games mantras—Ibtihaj Muhammad (USA, Fencing), the first U.S. athlete to compete in a hijab at the Olympic Games, and Carli Lloyd, 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup winner.
Team Visa athletes are a group of 59 world-class Olympic and Paralympic Games athletes, many of whom are headed to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The new campaign reminds us, along the way, of Visa's dedication to acceptance, partnership and innovation, and just how easy it is to pay with Visa on any journey anywhere.
