Alexia Putellas Segura (Mollet del Vallès, Barcelona, February 4, 1994) is a Spanish footballer who plays as a midfielder, in the inside-left position, for Spanish Primera Division women's soccer club Fútbol Club Barcelona. She’s the FC Barcelona captain and plays in Liga F (Liga de Futbol Profesional Femenino). She also currently represents her country at an international level, having played for the Spanish senior national team since 2013.
Widely regarded as not just one of the greatest women’s footballers of her generation, but of all time, Alexia Putellas is a legend in the footballing world. In 2020-2021 she won a continental treble as Vice-Captain of FC Barcelona Femení, before going on to win the UEFA Women's Player of the Year Award, the Ballon d'Or Féminin and The Best FIFA Women's Player in 2021 — becoming the first player to win all three in the same year.
