permanent tsb agrees new card portfolio deal with Visa
02/06/2020
Dublin, June 2 2020: Leading global payments technology company, Visa, has today announced a new seven year contract with permanent tsb, underpinning all consumer debit, consumer credit and commercial debit cards issued by the bank for the next seven years.
The portfolio contract will allow Visa to continue to support permanent tsb’s digital transformation and innovation strategy, as the bank further develops its digital offering. Through the integration of Visa technology into the bank’s application programme interface developer portal, permanent tsb will be in a position to offer new digital solutions to cardholders, delivering an enhanced customer experience.
The extended partnership will also allow all permanent tsb cardholders to continue to avail of the bank’s innovative GoRewards loyalty offer, powered by Visa’s Card Linked Offers (CLO) platform. GoRewards leverages transactional data to serve customers attractive, relevant and simple moneyback offers from a host of participating retailers. GoRewards enabled permanent tsb to offer €5 cashback to customers towards their grocery shopping in April to support them as Covid-19 took hold.
Building on this, under a new partnership with Just Eat, Ireland's leading online food ordering and delivery app, registered GoRewards customers can avail of 25% cashback on their next order, if they pay using their registered permanent tsb Visa card throughout the month of June*. permanent tsb was the first financial institution to partner with Visa and integrate the CLO platform into their loyalty offer when the GoRewards programme launched in 2016.
Commenting on the announcement, Patrick Farrell, Retail Banking Director at permanent tsb said, “We have chosen to partner with Visa because of their combination of market leading innovation, security and acceptance, building on a successful relationship that spans more than a decade. Our partnership has allowed us to offer our customers the most seamless payments experience, coupled with an unrivalled loyalty programme that delivers real value for customers, whether it is making a contactless payment to pick up a coffee, or ordering their favourite takeaway online”
Philip Konopik, Ireland Country Manager at Visa said, “We are delighted to renew our relationship with permanent tsb, having facilitated payments across the bank’s consumer and commercial card portfolio since 2010. Our innovative solutions such as our Card Linked Offers platform are helping to power permanent tsb’s digital transformation strategy, as well as helping to boost loyalty and attract new customers. This deal ensures that permanent tsb will continue to offer the latest payments technology to their cardholders, guaranteeing them the most secure and seamless payment experience in the process.”
